A comforting dish that layers the delicious elements of spaghetti, lasagna, and cheesy pie, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz spaghetti
  • 1 lb ground beef or sausage
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Once cooked, drain and cool slightly.
  3. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef or sausage over medium heat. Drain excess fat, then pour in the marinara sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, eggs, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  5. In a greased baking dish, layer spaghetti, meat sauce, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella. Repeat until all ingredients are used, finishing with mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  7. Let cool for a few minutes, garnish with fresh basil, and serve.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, use sautéed mushrooms or vegetables instead of meat. Make sure spaghetti is al dente to hold layers well.
