Delightful, soft, and fluffy beignets infused with vanilla, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • Oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir them together until they are evenly mixed.
  2. Whisk Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and melted butter until harmonious.
  3. Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
  4. Rest the Dough: Cover the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  5. Heat the Oil: Heat the oil in a deep fryer or heavy pot to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Roll & Cut the Dough: On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick and cut into squares.
  7. Fry the Beignets: Fry the dough squares in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  8. Drain & Dust: Once golden, remove the beignets and let them drain on paper towels. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with coffee or hot chocolate. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
