A delightful fusion of classic banana bread and gooey cinnamon rolls, drizzled with cream cheese frosting.

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. Combine the mashed bananas, sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract in a large bowl.
  3. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon in another bowl.
  4. Add the dry ingredients to the wet banana mixture, stirring just until combined.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle.
  6. Sprinkle your dough rectangle with a mix of cinnamon and sugar, and add nuts if desired.
  7. Roll the dough tightly to form a log and slice it into individual rolls.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Beat together the softened cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla for the frosting.
  10. Spread the frosting over the warm rolls as soon as they come out of the oven.

Notes

Use ripe bananas for the best flavor, and feel free to add chocolate chips for a richer taste.
