  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 4 sandwich buns
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Pickles (optional)
  • For Garlic Aioli:
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken in buttermilk for at least an hour.
  2. Combine flour, Cajun seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  3. Coat each chicken piece in the seasoned flour mixture.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  5. Fry the chicken until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes per side.
  6. Mix mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a bowl to make the garlic aioli.
  7. Toast the sandwich buns until crisp.
  8. Assemble the sandwich with chicken, lettuce, tomato, and pickles.
  9. Spread garlic aioli on the top bun and serve immediately.

Notes

For less grease, let the fried chicken drain on paper towels and consider using an air fryer as a healthier option.
