Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup brewed coffee, cooled
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. Whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Add softened butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix well until combined.
  4. Gradually add cooled coffee, mixing until the batter is smooth.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Best served warm or at room temperature. Pairs well with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
