A delightful Italian appetizer combining toasted bread with a fresh mixture of tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil.

Ingredients

  • Baguette or Ciabatta bread
  • Fresh tomatoes, diced
  • Fresh mozzarella, diced
  • Fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • Olive oil
  • Balsamic vinegar
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice the baguette or ciabatta into 1/2 inch thick slices.
  3. Arrange them nicely on a baking sheet, and toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Mix the diced tomatoes, mozzarella, fresh basil, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and salt and pepper in a mixing bowl.
  5. Spoon generous amounts of the tomato mixture onto each toasted slice.
  6. Serve the bruschetta immediately for the best experience.

Notes

Store leftover topping in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Keep toasted bread separate to maintain crispness.
