Caprese Panini

A delightful and simple Caprese Panini celebrating fresh ingredients like mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil, all toasted to perfection in ciabatta bread.

Ingredients

  • Ciabatta or Panini bread
  • Fresh mozzarella cheese
  • Tomatoes, sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Balsamic glaze
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat a panini press or grill until it’s nice and hot.
  2. Slice the ciabatta bread in half horizontally.
  3. Drizzle olive oil on the inside of each half.
  4. Layer slices of fresh mozzarella on the bottom half of the bread.
  5. Add beautifully sliced tomatoes and then the fragrant basil leaves.
  6. Drizzle balsamic glaze over the layered ingredients and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  7. Press the top half of the bread over the filling and gently press it down.
  8. Grill the assembled panini for about 3-5 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Slice the panini in half and serve warm.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh. For leftovers, store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
