Delightful Cheesy Garlic Cruffins combining flaky pastry with melty cheese and fragrant garlic, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup bread flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp paprika

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast: In a bowl, mix warm water with the yeast and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, combine all-purpose flour, bread flour, salt, and paprika.
  3. Mix wet and dry ingredients: Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and milk to the dry ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough: Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-10 minutes until smooth.
  5. Let the dough rise: Transfer the kneaded dough to a lightly greased bowl, cover, and allow it to rise for 1 hour.
  6. Preheat the oven: While the dough is rising, preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Roll out the dough: Once the dough has risen, roll it out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  8. Brush with flavors: Melt additional butter, mix in minced garlic, and brush this mixture onto the rolled-out dough.
  9. Sprinkle the cheese: Evenly sprinkle the grated Parmesan and shredded mozzarella cheese across the buttered dough.
  10. Shape the cruffins: Roll the dough tightly to create a log and cut it into 12 equal pieces.
  11. Bake to perfection: Place the pieces into a greased muffin tin and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
