A delightful chocolate cake layered with chocolate ganache and fresh strawberries, perfect for any celebration.

Ingredients

  • 1 box of chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup strawberries, diced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven according to the cake mix instructions and prepare your cake pans.
  2. Prepare the chocolate cake batter as per the box instructions.
  3. Fold the diced strawberries into the batter gently.
  4. Pour the batter into prepared cake pans and bake until done.
  5. Let the cakes cool completely on a wire rack.
  6. Heat the heavy cream in a saucepan until just simmering, then add the chopped chocolate and butter and stir until smooth.
  7. Place one cake layer on a plate and pour ganache on top, then add the second layer.
  8. Pour remaining ganache over the top and sides of the cake.
  9. Allow the ganache to set for at least 30 minutes.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream for serving, and store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.
