Cinnamon Swirl Banana Bread

A delightful banana bread with a warm cinnamon swirl, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (for the swirl)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 4×8-inch loaf pan.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth. Stir in the melted butter.
  3. Mix in the baking soda and salt. Then stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
  4. Incorporate the flour until just combined.
  5. Combine the cinnamon and additional sugar in a small bowl.
  6. Pour half of the banana bread batter into the prepared loaf pan, then sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the batter.
  7. Add the remaining banana batter on top and sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  8. Swirl gently with a knife for the cinnamon swirl effect.
  9. Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Serve warm with butter or honey; pairs nicely with coffee or tea. For extra flavor, top with cream cheese spread.
