A delightful, moist chocolate cake that is perfect for any celebration, bringing the comforting spirit of family gatherings.

  • 1 and 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix until well blended.
  3. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients. Mix until smooth.
  4. Carefully stir in the boiling water.
  5. Pour the batter evenly into prepared cake pans.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Allow cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before turning them out onto wire racks to cool completely.
  8. Frost with your favorite chocolate frosting and enjoy!

Notes
