A fluffy and sweet bread topped with cinnamon sugar, reminiscent of classic donuts.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Extra sugar and cinnamon for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. Mix together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  3. Whisk the melted butter, both sugars, eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  6. Mix additional sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle over the batter.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool slightly before removing from the pan.

Notes

Serve warm with whipped cream cheese or maple syrup. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
