A delightful blend of moist banana bread with a rich cream cheese filling that’s perfect for any occasion.

  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar (for filling)
  • 1 egg (for filling)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for filling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Mash the bananas with the melted butter.
  3. Stir in baking soda and a pinch of salt.
  4. Add sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  5. Mix in the flour until just combined.
  6. In another bowl, mix cream cheese with sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
  7. Pour half of the banana batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  8. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over this layer.
  9. Pour the remaining banana batter on top.
  10. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  11. Cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For serving, enjoy with whipped cream, honey, or cinnamon. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature.
