  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the milk and egg until fully combined.
  3. Carefully combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Dip each marshmallow into the batter, ensuring they’re fully coated.
  6. Carefully drop the battered marshmallows into the hot oil, frying until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
  7. Remove the marshmallows from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  8. Serve hot, optionally sprinkled with powdered sugar.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
