A delightful sandwich featuring crispy bacon, fried green tomatoes, fresh lettuce, and creamy mayonnaise.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bacon
  • 2 green tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices of bread
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Mayonnaise

Instructions

  1. Crisp the bacon by frying it in a skillet over medium heat until crispy and golden. Set aside on a paper towel to absorb excess grease.
  2. Prepare the buttermilk bath by dipping each slice of green tomato into a bowl of buttermilk.
  3. Dredge the buttermilk-soaked slices in a mixture of cornmeal, flour, salt, and pepper.
  4. Fry the tomatoes in hot oil over medium-high heat until golden and crispy, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  5. Toast the bread slices and spread mayonnaise on each slice. Assemble with bacon, fried green tomatoes, and lettuce.
