Deliciously fluffy brioches filled with chocolate chips and creamy vanilla custard, perfect for brunch or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup vanilla custard

Instructions

  1. Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, active dry yeast, and salt.
  2. Warm the Milk and Butter: In a small saucepan, gently heat the milk and butter until melted and warm.
  3. Add the Eggs and Vanilla: Crack in the eggs and pour the vanilla extract; mix until smooth.
  4. Let It Rise: Cover the dough with a towel and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour.
  5. Roll and Fill the Dough: Roll it out and fill it with chocolate chips and custard; shape into balls.
  6. Second Rise: Cover the tin with a towel and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat and Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  8. Cool Slightly Before Serving: Let cool in the tin for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Serve with whipped cream or chocolate sauce; pair with coffee or tea.
