A rich chocolate cake layered with silky strawberry ganache and crunchy Kit Kat bars, perfect for celebrations or a sweet treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 8 ounces strawberries, pureed
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup chocolate ganache
  • 12 Kit Kat bars
  • Fresh strawberries for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Blend until smooth.
  3. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool for 10 minutes before removing from the pans.
  4. For the strawberry ganache, heat heavy cream until simmering. Pour over chopped chocolate and let sit. Whisk until smooth, then add pureed strawberries and powdered sugar.
  5. Place one cake layer on a serving plate and spread strawberry ganache on top. Place second layer on top.
  6. Frost the top and sides of the cake with remaining ganache.
  7. Press Kit Kat bars into the frosting around the sides of the cake.
  8. Garnish with fresh strawberries and chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a lighter cake, mix ingredients just until combined. Chill leftovers for up to 3 days.
