A rich and elegant cake combining layers of chocolate and vanilla with sumptuous mousse.

Ingredients

  • 1 chocolate cake layer
  • 1 vanilla cake layer
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate mousse
  • 1 cup white chocolate mousse
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Chocolate shavings for garnish
  • Fresh berries for garnish

Instructions

  1. Bake the cake layers according to the package instructions and let them cool completely.
  2. Prepare the chocolate mousse by melting the semi-sweet chocolate gently and folding it into whipped cream.
  3. Create the white chocolate mousse by melting the white chocolate and folding it into whipped cream until smooth.
  4. Assemble the cooled chocolate cake layer on a serving plate, topping it with a layer of chocolate mousse.
  5. Add the vanilla cake layer on top of the chocolate mousse.
  6. Spread the white chocolate mousse on top of the vanilla layer.
  7. Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  8. Frost the entire cake with the whipped cream.
  9. Decorate with chocolate shavings and fresh berries, then chill in the fridge for a few hours.

Notes

Best served with fresh strawberries or raspberries and pairs well with coffee or tea.
