  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for the cream filling
  • Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Alternate adding the dry ingredients and the milk to the butter mixture until just combined.
  6. Spoon the batter into greased muffin tins, filling each cup halfway.
  7. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  9. Fill the cooled cakes with whipped cream.
  10. Dust with chocolate shavings or cocoa powder before serving.

Notes

These cream bombs are best enjoyed fresh, and you can experiment with flavors by adding liqueur or berries to the filling.
