A stunning cake that balances sweet and salty flavors, enriched with salted caramel sauce and topped with chocolate ganache.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup salted caramel sauce
  • Chocolate ganache for decoration (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
  6. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients, alternating with milk.
  7. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Cool the cakes in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  10. Assemble by spreading salted caramel sauce between layers and on top.
  11. Drizzle chocolate ganache over the top if desired.

Notes

Store leftover cake in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days or refrigerate for up to a week.
