A comforting and aromatic banana bread enhanced with the floral notes of lavender, perfect for cozy snacks or elegant brunches.

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon dried culinary lavender
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and greased a 4×8 inch loaf pan.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  3. Stir in the melted butter.
  4. Mix in the lavender, vanilla extract, baking soda, and a pinch of salt.
  5. Stir in the sugar and the egg until well combined, then add the flour until just incorporated.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  7. Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let the banana bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.

Notes

For a unique twist, try substituting lavender with lemon zest or rosemary. Can be made gluten-free by using a gluten-free flour blend.
