Easy Bread Pudding with Rum Sauce

A comforting bread pudding with a warm, buttery rum sauce.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups of cubed bread
  • 4 cups of milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup of raisins (optional)
  • 1/2 cup of rum (for the sauce)
  • 1/2 cup of butter
  • 1 cup of powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until smooth.
  3. Add the cubed bread and raisins, and allow to soak for 15-20 minutes.
  4. Pour the mixture into the greased baking dish.
  5. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until golden and set.
  6. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat, then stir in powdered sugar and rum until smooth.
  7. Serve warm with the rum sauce drizzled on top.

Notes

For best texture, use day-old bread. This recipe is easily customizable with different spices or toppings.
