A delightful twist on classic tiramisu combining cherries and amaretto for a rich, layered dessert that evokes nostalgia and modern indulgence.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cherries, pitted and halved
  • 1 tablespoon cherry liqueur (optional)
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1/2 cup amaretto liqueur
  • 24 ladyfingers
  • Cocoa powder, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Combine the cherries and cherry liqueur in a bowl; set aside to marinate.
  2. Whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form, then add powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
  3. Fold the mascarpone into the whipped cream mixture until smooth.
  4. Mix cooled coffee and amaretto in a shallow dish.
  5. Dip each ladyfinger briefly into the coffee mixture, ensuring they do not soak.
  6. Arrange half of the dipped ladyfingers in a single layer in a serving dish.
  7. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
  8. Add half of the marinated cherries on top of the mascarpone layer.
  9. Repeat the layers with the remaining ladyfingers, mascarpone mixture, and cherries.
  10. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  11. Dust the top with cocoa powder before serving.

Notes

Optional: Replace liqueurs with vanilla extract for a non-alcoholic version. For best flavor, chill overnight.
