Delightful twist on classic recipes combining the sweet flavor of ripe bananas with the comforting essence of cinnamon, topped with luscious cream cheese frosting.

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
  • Cinnamon and sugar mixture (for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas with sugar and melted butter. Stir well until nicely blended. Add in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  2. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the banana mixture, being careful not to overmix.
  3. Flour your countertop and roll out the dough into a rectangle. Sprinkle the cinnamon and sugar mixture over the surface.
  4. Roll the dough tightly into a log from one edge. Slice into approximately 12 equal rolls and place in a greased baking dish.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
  6. Prepare the frosting by blending cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  7. Cool the rolls slightly and drizzle the cream cheese frosting over them.

Notes

Use overripe bananas for the best flavor. Don’t overmix the dough to maintain fluffiness.
