A delightful twist on classic French toast made with soft, pillowy Hawaiian rolls, perfect for a warm and comforting breakfast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 Hawaiian rolls
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Maple syrup for serving

Instructions

  1. Whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon in a bowl.
  2. Cut the Hawaiian rolls in half and dip them in the egg mixture, allowing them to soak for a few seconds.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt a generous pat of butter.
  4. Place the soaked rolls in the skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides.
  5. Serve warm with maple syrup drizzled over the rolls.

Notes

Be gentle when soaking the rolls; you want them saturated, but not falling apart. Don’t crowd the skillet for even frying.
