A whimsical green velvet cake adorned with festive sprinkles, perfect for celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup buttermilk, at room temperature
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons green food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • Sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour three 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the oil, buttermilk, eggs, food coloring, vanilla extract, and vinegar until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until smooth.
  5. Divide the batter evenly among the prepared cake pans.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then turn them out onto wire racks to cool completely.
  8. Once cooled, stack the cakes with frosting in between each layer and top with sprinkles.
