A fluffy focaccia bread filled with sweet fruit jam, reminiscent of a warm jam donut, perfect for brunch or a sweet snack.

  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon instant yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • Fruit jam (your choice)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Combine dry ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. Add wet ingredients: Add warm milk, egg, and melted butter to the dry ingredients; mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough: Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Let it rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise until doubled in size, roughly about 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Roll out the dough: Roll out the dough and place it in a greased baking dish, creating dimples with your fingers.
  7. Spoon in the jam: Spoon your chosen fruit jam into the dimples.
  8. Bake to perfection: Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Dust and serve: Let the focaccia cool slightly, dust with powdered sugar, and serve.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
