  • 1 pound chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon ground coriander
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Pita bread or wraps for serving
  • Fresh vegetables (lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers) for garnish
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Combine ingredients for marinade in a bowl.
  2. Marinate the chicken thighs, coating well, and let sit for at least 1 hour.
  3. Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook the chicken for 6-7 minutes on each side until fully cooked.
  5. Rest the chicken for a few minutes before slicing thinly.
  6. Prepare the creamy garlic sauce by mixing yogurt, garlic, and lemon juice until smooth.
  7. Assemble the shawarma by placing sliced chicken in pita, topping with vegetables and garlic sauce.
