A delightful holiday treat that transforms classic eggnog into a creamy, fluffy mousse, perfect for festive gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup eggnog
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon gelatin
  • 2 tablespoons cold water
  • Nutmeg for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over cold water and let it sit for about 5 minutes to bloom.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the eggnog, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Stir gently until well mixed and sugar is dissolved.
  3. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  4. Gently fold the whipped cream into the eggnog mixture.
  5. Melt the bloomed gelatin by heating it in the microwave for about 10 seconds and stir it into the eggnog mixture.
  6. Spoon the mousse into cups and refrigerate for at least 4 hours to set.
  7. Serve chilled, garnished with a sprinkle of nutmeg.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Chill your mixing bowl and whisk for better whipped cream results.
