  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rise for 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  7. Shape the dough into a loaf and place it on a baking sheet. Let it rest for another 15 minutes.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
  9. Let the bread cool before slicing.

Notes

If the dough is too sticky, dust it with more flour while kneading. For added flavor, consider incorporating herbs, garlic, or cheese into the dough.
