  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your 4×8 inch loaf pan.
  2. Mash Those Bananas: In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth and creamy. Stir in the melted butter.
  3. Add Leavening and Salt: Mix in the baking soda and a pinch of salt.
  4. Sweeten the Deal: Stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract to create the sweet base.
  5. Incorporate the Flour: Gently mix in the flour until just incorporated.
  6. Time for Chocolate: Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Pour and Bake: Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan and bake for 60-65 minutes.
  8. Cooling Off: Let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Ensure bananas are very ripe for best flavor and moisture. You can add nuts or swap chocolate chips for peanut butter chips if desired.
