A nostalgic and moist chocolate cake incorporating mayonnaise for richness and flavor.

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, water, and sugar until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Add the vanilla extract and eggs, mixing gently until the batter is smooth.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it out with a spatula.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cake to cool before serving.
