A stunning dessert that combines the richness of Italian tiramisu and delicate crepes into one indulgent cake.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups flour
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup espresso coffee, cooled
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • Dark chocolate shavings for garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix the Crepe Batter: In a bowl, mix flour, eggs, milk, sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract until smooth. You want a silky batter that’s free of lumps — it should be the consistency of heavy cream.
  2. Cook the Crepes: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Pour a ladle of batter into the skillet, tilting it to cover the bottom in a thin layer. Cook for about 1-2 minutes on each side until lightly golden. Repeat this for all your crepes, stacking them as you go.
  3. Whip the Mascarpone Filling: In another bowl, combine mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, and powdered sugar. Whisk until the mixture is fluffy and holds soft peaks. You want it light and airy, ready to complement the crepes perfectly.
  4. Assemble the Crepe Layers: To put it all together, start with a crepe on your serving plate. Spread a generous layer of the mascarpone mixture on top, followed by a drizzle of cooled espresso. Repeat this layering process with the remaining crepes, ending with the mascarpone on top.
  5. Garnish & Chill: Top your masterpiece with whipped cream and a sprinkle of dark chocolate shavings. Cover it gently with plastic wrap and place it in the fridge for a few hours. This chilling step allows the flavors to meld beautifully.
  6. Serve and Enjoy!: When you’re ready to serve, slice into this beautiful creation and watch the layers reveal their delicious secrets. Every slice is a beautiful testament to the time and love you put into it.

Notes

For additional flavor, consider adding orange zest to the mascarpone or substituting cream cheese mixed with sour cream for mascarpone.
