A comforting Mushroom Chicken dish that brings together golden seared chicken breasts and tender mushrooms in a rich broth.

Ingredients

  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until it shimmers.
  2. Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then add the chicken to the skillet. Cook for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  3. Sauté the minced garlic and sliced mushrooms in the same skillet until mushrooms are tender.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth and sprinkle in the thyme. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  5. Place the chicken breasts back into the skillet, cover, and simmer for another 5 minutes.
  6. Stir in the cream (if using) and adjust seasoning before serving.
