A colorful and flavorful layered cake featuring chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry flavors, perfect for celebrations and sweet indulgences.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup strawberry puree
  • 1/2 cup whipped cream
  • 1/2 cup chocolate frosting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 9-inch round cake pans to prevent sticking.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. Add the milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Beat until the batter is smooth and well-blended.
  4. Divide the batter into three separate bowls. In one bowl, mix in the strawberry puree, leaving another bowl as the chocolate cake base. For the third bowl, add an extra tablespoon of cocoa powder to intensify its chocolate flavor.
  5. Pour the strawberry batter, the plain chocolate batter, and the enhanced chocolate batter into your prepared cake pans.
  6. Bake the cakes for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Let your cakes cool in the pans for about 10 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
  8. Layer the cakes with irresistible whipped cream and chocolate frosting between the layers.
  9. Frost the top and sides of the cake with chocolate frosting until it is beautifully coated.
  10. Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving, allowing the flavors to meld together.

Notes

Make sure your ingredients are at room temperature for better mixing. Use a serrated knife to level off any domes on top of the cakes before layering for easier stacking.
