A colorful dessert that combines chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry flavors, perfect for special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Strawberry frosting
  • Chocolate frosting
  • Vanilla frosting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar together in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, until fully combined.
  6. Divide the batter evenly into three bowls. Leave one bowl plain, add cocoa powder to the second for chocolate, and add strawberry puree to the third for strawberry.
  7. Pour the batters into the prepared cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cakes to cool completely on a wire rack.
  9. Layer the cakes with strawberry frosting between the strawberry layer, chocolate frosting between the chocolate layer, and vanilla frosting on top.
  10. Decorate as desired and serve.

Notes

Use fresh strawberries for the frosting and consider adding lemon juice for enhanced flavor.
