A creamy and dreamy frosting bursting with delightful orange flavor, perfect for cupcakes and cakes.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (or milk)
  • 1 teaspoon orange extract
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • A few drops of orange food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.
  2. Gradually add in the powdered sugar, mixing on low speed until combined.
  3. Add the heavy cream, orange extract, and orange zest to the mixture.
  4. Beat on medium speed for 3-5 minutes until the frosting is light and fluffy.
  5. If desired, add a few drops of orange food coloring and mix until evenly distributed.
  6. Use immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to one week, and freeze for up to three months.
