Homemade Pizza Dough

Easily make your own pizza dough for a fresh and customizable pizza base.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Combine the flour and salt in a large mixing bowl. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
  3. Stir until the dough comes together, then knead on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 60-120 minutes or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
  6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness, then transfer to a pizza pan or stone.
  7. Top with your favorite toppings and bake for 12-15 minutes.

Notes

Store leftover dough in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage.
