A delightful cinnamon bread that captures the essence of Dollywood’s famed treat, with a fluffy interior and a crunchy topping.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon in a mixing bowl.
  3. Whisk together the melted butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract in another bowl until well combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, and gently mix until just combined.
  5. Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon for the topping in a small bowl.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the batter.
  7. Add the remaining batter on top and swirl the top layer with a knife.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Allow the bread to cool slightly before slicing and serve warm.

Notes

For an extra moist bread, avoid overmixing. You can add nuts or raisins for added texture.
