  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup caramel bits
  • Sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure the perfect baking temperature.
  2. Cream together the softened unsalted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until the mixture is smooth and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Then add the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and sea salt in a separate bowl. Gradually stir this dry mixture into the creamed butter mixture until combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips and caramel bits, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  6. Spoon spoonfuls of the cookie dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving some space for the cookies to spread while baking.
  7. Sprinkle a little sea salt on top of each mound of dough.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers look slightly soft.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For extra gooey centers, pull them out a minute early and let them continue to cook on the baking sheet.
