A delicious and easy slow cooker dish featuring tender chicken in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken thighs or breasts
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • 2 tablespoons water (optional, for thickening)

Instructions

  1. Mix together honey, soy sauce, ketchup, garlic, ginger, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  2. Place the chicken in the slow cooker and pour the sauce over the chicken.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 360-420 minutes or on high for 180-240 minutes.
  4. If you’d like a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch with water and stir into the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
  5. Serve the chicken with rice or vegetables and drizzle with sauce.

Notes

Marinate the chicken in the sauce for an hour before cooking for extra flavor. For heat, add red pepper flakes to the sauce.
