Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter, for spreading
  • Icing (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine dry ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, cinnamon, and yeast.
  2. Prepare wet ingredients: In a small saucepan, heat the milk and melted butter until warm but not hot.
  3. Create the dough: Add the warm milk mixture and egg to the dry ingredients; mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  5. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, then spread with butter before sprinkling on the brown sugar and blueberries.
  7. Shape the rolls: Roll up the dough tightly, then cut it into slices.
  8. Second rise: Place the slices in a greased baking dish and allow to rise again for 30 minutes.
  9. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes.
  10. Finish with icing and serve warm.

Notes

For best results, ensure your yeast is fresh and the dough is allowed to rise in a warm environment.
