Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for icing)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by dissolving it in warm milk and letting it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Combine the sugar, softened butter, salt, and eggs until well mixed.
  3. Form the dough by gradually adding flour until a soft mixture forms.
  4. Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  6. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle on a floured surface.
  7. Spread softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle with cinnamon, brown sugar, and chopped strawberries.
  8. Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 1-inch thick rolls.
  9. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  10. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Mix together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth for the icing.
  12. Drizzle the icing over the warm rolls before serving.
