  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into squares about 4 inches wide.
  3. Prepare a filling by tossing sliced strawberries with granulated sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl.
  4. Fill each pastry square with a generous spoonful of the strawberry mixture.
  5. Create pockets by folding the corners of each pastry square over the filling and pinching the edges to seal.
  6. Brush the tops of each Danish with beaten egg for a golden hue.
  7. Bake on a lined baking sheet for about 20-25 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  8. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Best enjoyed warm. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or freeze for up to a month.
