Ingredients
Scale
300g soft tofu
1 cup arnibal syrup (caramelized sugar syrup)
1 cup sago pearls
4 cups water
Instructions
Start by bringing 4 cups of water to a boil in a pot. Add the sago pearls and cook them until they become translucent, about 15 minutes. Drain the pearls and set them aside.
In a separate pot, combine 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water. Allow it to simmer over low heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture thickens, about 10-15 minutes.
Prepare the soft tofu by either boiling or steaming it until warm, about 5-7 minutes.
In a serving cup, layer the warm tofu, followed by a generous serving of sago pearls.
Drizzle the thick arnibal syrup over the layered tofu and sago pearls. Serve warm.
Notes
For perfect sago pearls, ensure they’re fully cooked until translucent. You can infuse the arnibal syrup with pandan leaves for added aroma.
