A comforting one-pot dish combining ground beef, pasta, and rich tomato sauce, perfect for busy weeknights or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Grated cheese for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and bell pepper; cook until soft, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, and Italian seasoning.
  4. Raise the heat until the mixture begins to boil.
  5. Add the elbow macaroni and stir gently.
  6. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 20 minutes, until the macaroni is tender.
  7. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Serve hot, topped with grated cheese if desired.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or frozen for up to 3 months. Add a splash of beef broth when reheating.
