  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a large bowl.
  3. Combine the melted butter, milk, egg, and vanilla extract in another bowl.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  6. Mix together the brown sugar and chopped nuts until well combined and sprinkle over the batter.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cinnamon flop to cool slightly before serving.

For extra sweetness, drizzle icing made from powdered sugar and milk over the cooled cake.
