A simple yet delightful apple crisp, perfect for warming hearts and filling bellies with a sweet and tart flavor blend.

  • 6 cups sliced apples
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the sliced apples with 1/2 cup of brown sugar and cinnamon.
  3. Spread the apple mixture evenly in a greased baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, combine the rolled oats, all-purpose flour, the remaining brown sugar, and salt.
  5. Cut in the softened butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  6. Evenly sprinkle the oat mixture over the apples in the baking dish.
  7. Bake for about 45-50 minutes, or until the apples are bubbly and the topping is golden brown.
  8. Serve warm, optionally topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For best results, use a mix of sweet and tart apples like Granny Smith and Honeycrisp. Adjust sweetness according to apple tartness.
