A nostalgic dish of crispy chicken with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella, perfect for family dinners.

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dip each chicken breast into the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring both sides are coated.
  4. Place the coated chicken breasts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes until cooked through and golden brown.
  6. Remove from the oven, scoop out marinara sauce, and spoon it over the chicken.
  7. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the saucy chicken.
  8. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes

For extra crunch, consider using panko breadcrumbs. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
