A delightful Banana Cream Pie with layers of ripe bananas, creamy custard, and topped with fluffy whipped cream.

Ingredients

  • 1 pre-made pie crust
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 egg yolks

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and bake the crust according to package instructions. Let it cool completely.
  2. In a saucepan, combine the milk, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and bubbles slightly.
  3. Once thick, remove from heat and stir in the egg yolks and vanilla extract. Mix well until combined.
  4. Pour the creamy filling into the cooled pie crust and let it cool to room temperature.
  5. Slice the ripe bananas and layer them evenly on top of the custard filling.
  6. In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
  7. Spread the whipped cream generously over the layered bananas.
  8. Chill the pie in the refrigerator for at least 120 minutes before serving.

Notes

Dust with chocolate shavings or crushed nuts on top of the whipped cream for garnish. Pair with coffee or vanilla ice cream for a delightful experience.
